OtapediaVanilla Nekopara - Figures

Vanilla and her twin sister, Chocola, are the ultra-recognizable mascots of both Nekopara and the doujinshi circle NEKOWORKs. Fans love her “kuudere” style and not-so-subtle degree of siscon with Chocola. As a result, the two feature in most artwork, merchandise, and figures as a matching set. These three Vanilla figures are meant to pair with a corresponding Chocola figure, but still show off Vanilla’s charm alone: “Nekopara Vanilla Non-Scale Figure,” “figma Nekopara Vanilla,” and “Nendoroid Nekopara Vanilla.”

Nekopara Vanilla Non Scale Figure

This non-scale figure of Vanilla from Flare shows her in an appropriately cat-like commemorative pose. The figure is based on an illustration in honor of the NEKOWORKs 10th anniversary from series creator Sayori. Vanilla kneels on her hands and knees with her right hand lifted and curled like a cat paw. Her usual stoic face is more kitten-like with her mouth opened in a small pucker. Her long twin-tails drape across her back and fall on the floor by her knees. She wears a muted cobalt pinstripe lingerie set accented with delicately carved light blue lacy ruffle details. Her gold bell sets the tone for the rest of her gold jewelry, such as her rings, bracelet, and the chain hanging from her hairbow. Her tail arches up playfully from the top of her string-tied underwear. The figure pairs with a matching Chocola to complete the tapestry illustration.

figma Nekopara Vanilla Figure

From Max Factory comes this articulated Vanilla figure ready to serve the La Soleil patrons. Her maid uniform has been faithfully recreated around a set of joints and flexible plastic to allow for a wide range of poses. Her long, fluffy twin-tails billow and curl behind her for both visual beauty and practical mobility. The figure comes with three interchangeable faceplates: a calm smile, a closed eye grin, and a sweet blushing expression. Accessories include a tray and tea set for Vanilla to hold and serve guests. However, Vanilla could enjoy the sweets herself by sitting down at the included table and chairs with alternate skirt and tail parts. The painting details make this figure especially beautiful by capturing Vanilla’s distinct eyes and the faint pink tint of her white hair.

Nendoroid Nekopara Vanilla Figure

The ever calm and collected Vanilla looks cuter than a kitten in the Nendoroid line from Good Smile Company. Her maid uniform has been shrunken down to chibi proportions but still retains all the important elements like her gold bell and small heart-shaped buttons. Light carving detail helps convey the light, fluffy quality of her ears, and bushy twin-tails. The figure includes three faceplates. Two maintain the usual art style and depict a cool, gentle smile and a serene, closed eye expression. The third features a more cartoonish art style, showing Vanilla with a smug, flat eyed grin with a slight cat-like curve in her upper lip. Accessories include additional arms and handpieces as well as a tray for numerous posing possibilities.

About Vanilla

Vanilla is Chocola’s twin sister and the youngest cat at the Minaduki Bakery, La Soleil. After they were born, Vanilla and Chocola were abandoned on the side of the road. Kashou Minaduki and his younger sister, Shigure, found them and brought them home. Because the young catgirls were in an unfamiliar place and just experienced a traumatizing event, neither would eat nor drink anything. Eventually, Kashou brought them to the hospital to be treated for malnourishment. After that event, the catgirls stayed with the Minaduki family and grew very attached to Kashou. Vanilla is very stoic and aloof. As a result, she often has trouble conveying her feelings and emotions. She is also quite intelligent and independent and is possibly the most catlike of all the catgirls.

Other Important Nekopara Characters

Kashou Minaduki is the primary protagonist of the Nekopara visual novels and the proprietor of the La Soleil cafe. In order to open his bakery, Kashou moved away from his parents’ home in secret. Kashou is a very easygoing and considerate person as he often ends up consoling the catgirls in the bakery when they have disagreements. However, he is extremely dense and misses subtleties and hints from others. He and Vanilla are very close since he rescued her as a kitten though they have trouble communicating their feelings.

Cinnamon is the Scottish Fold cat of the La Soleil catgirls. She is very easygoing and mild-mannered, usually taking the role of mother to the other catgirls. As a kitten, Cinnamon was very shy and hid from others. However, now she is sociable and cheerful which comes in handy with her work at the bakery. Sometimes Cinnamon suffers from bouts of low self-esteem and engages in masochistic, and occasionally sadistic, behavior.
